Margiela is the child in fashion that is so amazing , creative but does not get enough recognition in the industry. But maybe that is what they want and also keep it underground for real fashionistas and people who will not be influence by mass market and retail push. Now for their pre-fall 2018 a strong and trendy girl who has a big personality and go with her cool vibes, some lovely fringes and a modern cowboy mood mixed with crepe and silk. i guess that is the success key, which i think big new upcoming brands try to get inspired like Vetements.
I love creativity but totally dislike copy with a small alteration and that is what this brands have a moment of fame then are gone or not the hot topic anymore, that is why Margiela stays and keep going for so so many years.
Hands up and check some impressions.
Since couple of seasons I’ve been watching new cool designers, as big brand are getting boring and this new designers are stepping into this industry very strong. This is the case again for JOHANNA ORTIZ a Colombian designer which i am very proud as me Colombian. She is serving for SS18 a soft elegant ruffle situation. Ruffles are getting stronger and stronger in many designers but she is putting it together so nicely and chic than make us feel sophisticated. fancy fabrics with a small soft print or a lovely leather belt shows a strong look, a strong woman who loves comfort but at the same time is cosmic.
I love comfortable clothes but as long its chic, (flips flops is not chic at all) for sure we will continue hearing and seeing this passionate Colombian designer and hope we see her presenting soon in Milan or Paris or both.
Check the best impressions of her SS18.
Who missed David Koma’s Fall show for Mugler, will get more shoulders now for his Resort, we call this major. While they are quite powerful as far as such things go, in comparison to the peaked beauties of last season, they’re no shoulder at all.
That’s how Koma described them. As he explained at his presentation in NY, now that he’s been at the French house for three years, he’s serious about buckling down on cut.
He’s in the business of measuring millimeters, attention to details and each and every one counts when you’re talking about a body-con leather dress with the Mugler logo screaming down the side à la motocross gear.
The logo detailing felt like an easy nod to current trends. This label has such a strong signature—those shoulders, the hourglass fit—such nods aren’t really necessary.
I had the honor to style the show for MOURJJAN in Switzerland with the top models Karolina Kurkova and Maria Borges please check the video #Proud
Looking into brands, trends, you can discover how much can a a couple of brands can influence in so many other designers and movements in fashion, of course i am talking about Balenciaga, Vetements, HBA, i will call them the fashion parents of the moment. This is how i love to see some upcoming brands taking some inspiration and developing their own wave like in this case UNRAVEL.
With a big influence they are showing for Fall 17 an amazing cool kid collection, based with latex, hoodies combined with classic outfits. serious blazers with a punk pants in latex and some pointing boots.
When you visit fashion week you expect the big brands only but no, this is not the case, there are a huge amount of excellent designers and showrooms to visit with easy access, That is also the idea to discover new talents because some big brands just dont fill much our expectations, In Paris this week JOHANNA ORTIZ show us another world, a space full of amazing pieces where creativity is the main idea. We see many brands going Balenciaga, vetements, HBA directions, but Joanna’s collections not.
This amazing Colombian designer blow me away with this tones , cuts, style and spark outfits.High quality gowns with a touch of glamour like we all love.
